A research paper’s theme is usually the main subject or the central theme of the research paper. The topic of your research paper will be essentially the main focus of your research paper, and must be pertinent to your particular course. You may change your theme of your research paper halfway through to something else, however that does not change the fundamental nature of the topic. The topic of your research paper and how you interpret and present it will define the structure and the organization of the paper and the relevancy to the information contained within.

One good research paper topics to use for assignments in the classroom would be United States v. England. This research was carried out by Stephen Holmes and David Norton and was first published in the Journal of the History of Medicine and Political Science in 2021.
